A video offering a master class in tense body language has quietly gone viral this week.
In the clip, recorded at the White House ceremony to honor newly-sworn-in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Brett’s wife, Ashley, appears more than a little uncomfortable.
Perhaps it’s because she’s standing mere inches away from admitted sexual assaulter Donald Trump. Or maybe it’s the way her husband, an accused sexual assaulter, physically moves her out of the way to clear his path.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Occasionally, as if she has given herself a mental push to ‘perform’ for the occasion, she tries to smile broadly but this merely exaggerates the tension,” described one body language expert.
Watch below:
Yoooooooooo…. this shit ain't right… look at the wife… she looks scared to death…. shit crazy… the forced smile… the hard taps on the back… her body language is telling the real story…

Brett Kavanaugh became the 114th Justice of the United States Supreme Court on Saturday following a polarizing nomination process. He was accused by several women of sexual misconduct, including Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who testified under oath that the judge pinned her down at a high school party and tried to forcibly remove her clothing. He denied the allegations in his own angry and emotional testimony, during which he almost certainly lied repeatedly under oath.

Welp, the beat goes on folks. This entire Brett. K saga was a complete waste of tax payers time and money. Democrats need to focus on reaching out to the 1 1/2 million people who failed to vote in the last election. I don’t care about his wife or how he treats her. She has the #Metoo movement behind her if she wishes to speak out. clearly that is not the case. She seems fine. Let’s move onto more important things.
jakejacob
Yup, that’s the way to win. To stop hating and actually reach out to voters. The dem party has become a hate party with no direction. That’s why they keep on losing.
Kangol
It’s actually 9 million fewer voters since 2008, when Obama won by a sizable margin. I guess we’ll see in November!
Gilliflower
Yeah, absolutely right. No need to focus on anything the article points out, like Mrs. Kav. being scared stiff or Brett in manhandling her out of the way, because, gee golly, you have an agenda that involves telling Democrats to ignore women. It works for Republicans, right?
Mozo83
Yup, just reach out to voters. Especially the brown ones the GOP keeps from voting legally, in WI, GA, OH…
Democrats reached out and took the popular vote. Americans are idiots.
batesmotel
Exactly . She clearly could careless. I knew the Brett case was a waste of time. Getting sworn in was to be expected. These extreme Democrats, who are really socialists, have no measure of intuition to know what’s a waste of time and what isn’t. They keep embarrassing themselves with these rants and raves, instead of finding productive healthier ways to produce the change their looking for. Although I have no clue what they’re looking for as that never seems to be visible with all the ranting and carrying on with their constant angry social media posts, “I hate him! I hate this man!” Okay. Then speak calmly and explain why. That hasn’t been done yet. They’re not capable of using appropriate words to convey a strong inspiring message that will open hearts to their fight.
jcoberkrom
No one has a problem with the way he moves her aside. It’s about him. Poor woman.
Treven
Agree! Not to mention the heavy-handed way he pats her on the back!
GayEGO
Did I just hear a muffled Kavanaugh voice telling his wife to shut up or else?
justgeo
Big issues with the way he touches shakes and pounds on her back… No bit of love at all on his part surely looks and acts like the monsters both guys are. IIICCCCCKKKKK

*conveniently forgotten – skipped a word, sorry.

1 – It’s likely borderline defamation to say Trump is an admitted sexual assaulter.
2 – Mrs Kavanaugh’s husband and family have had death threats. I know she’s on the wrong side, but just a smidgen of empathy the left claims it has in bucket loads would recognise what a stressful situation the woman has been / is in, especially when it’s deemed acceptable by the left to use her daughter in a cartoon to mock her husband.
3. If queerty believes claims made where corroborating witnesses refute the claims, where the claims are place / time unknown, where even the person driving Mrs Ford to / from the alleged sexual assault has yet to com forward, just recognise how this could be applied by someone of a differing political persuasion against the gay community. Would you be as listen and believing if claims against say Matt Bomber with as little supporting information were made??
oldgayguy
Thank you sydboy for demonstrating that at least some gay people have empathy and can recognize what a nasty experience this whole thng has been for her and her family. Most of us would be rather tense after going through such an experience. Sometimes I feel like I am living in a foreign country where people’s lives are destroyed by anyone willing to stand up and call out “he’s a rapist”. It sounds a bit like “she’s a witch”. I don’t doubt that Mrs Ford believes her own story but then so did those children in Salem.
Gilliflower
1. I guess it’s only “borderline”: because he admits it. Borderline, as in it’s on the side of the border that says “it’s ok to call him a sexual assaulter. Why is it OK? Because he admitted it. The border seems perty dang clear to me. Maybe it’s still fuzzy to you.
2. yes. Death threats are never cool. Republicans seem alright with them if they target Dems, though and it really has no bearing on what the original post is talking about.
3. I guess the same as number 2 here, but I’m really unclear as to what your intent is here.
tony-e
Gilliflower, exactly. They’re fine with, say, death threats against gay couples (look up how many the couple got that was part of the lawsuit to overturn Prop 8 in California, from so-called “conservative, god-fearing people”)
Greg
People like to call out Democrats/Liberals with statements like, “You’re supposed to be tolerant”, or like this guy says, “just a smidgen of empathy the left claims it has in bucket loads”. When did anybody from the left say that? Their stress could have been lessened had Kavanaugh stepped down. The thing about it is, Dr. Ford’s story probably happens every year all over the country at college parties or high school parties. Drunk, horny guys grinding on girls at parties. For him, it’s a failed forward pass. For her, it’s a traumatic event. When her story came out, he could have apologized for doing that to her 36 years ago, and if he was sincere, I’m sure Dr. Ford would have been okay. But if his actual intent was to rape her, then I could see why he would not remember anything and deny it.
Greg
@oldgayguy / His life was hardly destroyed. He ended up being confirmed to the Supreme Court for life even though he lied to Congress and the Nation. That’s hardly destroyed or ruined.
sydboy007
@gilliflower
1 – Please provide the quote of trump saying he sexually assualted a woman
2 – Do the wrong actions of some people towards other people then allow relatively unrelated people do similar wrong actions to a different group?
3 – It is relevant because as soon as you let due process be destroyed then we’re back to mob rules and as a minority you definitely don’t want the mob to have unfettered power (similar reasoning to why the electoral college is a good thing).
On the Fallibility of Memory and the Importance of Evidence – written by Tyler Watkins
In 1992, the Innocence Project was founded in response to the large number of falsely incriminated individuals that were being exonerated due to advancements in DNA testing and analyses in criminal investigations. Since then, they have documented 362 cases in which a prisoner was exonerated due to exculpatory DNA evidence. These innocent people served an average of 14 years in prison for crimes they did not commit.
By far, the leading cause of false imprisonment in these cases was eyewitness misidentification, which played a role in 70 percent of the convictions. Nearly half of those misidentifications (46 percent) involved multiple eyewitnesses “identifying” the same, innocent person. Separate findings noted in the case of Perry vs. New Hampshire suggest that as many as one out of every three eyewitness identifications are incorrect.
Contrary to what one might expect, a 2013 study found that eyewitness testimonies of victims are far more likely to play a role in wrongful convictions than those of bystanders. (It should be noted that in the case of sexual assaults, this is partially attributable to the prevalence of cases in which there is no non-victim eyewitness.) Out of 71 people wrongfully convicted of rape, 73 percent were misidentified by an eyewitness. 92 percent of these misidentifications were by the victim alone or both the victim and a third party eyewitness, making victims four times more likely to be the one who had misidentified the perpetrator (only 23 percent of misidentifications were by a third party).

@sydboy007
1. Please tell me you haven’t already conveniently his recorded admissions that are a matter of public record. They’re easy to find – just google it and educate yourself instead of demanding woman do it for you.
2. No on deserves death threats and no one should be doing it. Not the point of the article though, is it?
3. Do some research on sexual assault and you’ll understand how asinine your third point is. As for your Matt Bomber scenario – hasn’t happened though, has it? Whereas this case has much more evidence than you seem to want to acknowledge and the video (which is what this is all about), is accurately reported.
BigRedEO
This is NOT over yet. 12 Ethics complaints have been filed against Kavanaugh for his behavior during the process and for lying under oath during the process, as well as showing that he is incapable of showing impartiality. Chief Justice Roberts has already sent all 12 complaints to an impartial panel of judges who may decide he is unfit to be a judge at all. He may be gone quicker than Scaramucci.
GayEGO
That would be nice!

Look… russian bots sydboy007 and oldgayguy are around dropping their version of stupidness. Sit down little russian bots. Adults are adulting.
Kieran
Adults are adulting? LOL There was nothing “adult” about screaming and throwing temper tantrums in the halls of Congress in the expectation that you can get your way because you are good at making a scene. I had a childhood neighbor who acted like that. He was a typical spoiled brat who got his way by banging on walls, screaming and stamping his feet. It worked with his doting, liberal parents……but not when he got out in the real world. He soon found out that other people wouldn’t put up with his obnoxious behavior.
Scout
I’m not seeing what others appear to be seeing in this clip. Of course, she’s nervous! She’s on camera in front of lights, media, action after a contentious battle directed at her husband. Who wouldn’t be? Scared stiff?? Don’t see it.
batesmotel
That’s what I saw too. Someone uncomfortable with public attention. She’s a mom and a quiet family person. Doesn’t care about all this media circus stuff. She’s a pop star.
1898
That was painful to watch
batesmotel
How so? And no, I don’t care for him. Just curious how it was painful. All I saw was a woman uncomfortable with the cameras and attention.
GayEGO
We do not need a iiar in the Supreme Court or the position of the president, both who are sexual predators!
Kieran
REALITY CHECK: You’ve got President Trump and now you’ve also got Justice Kavanaugh. The infantile temper tantrums aren’t working. The democrats have to offer Americans more than “We HATE Trump!” and “Lindsey Graham is GAY!”
sydboy007
But hey, what the Clintons have done over decades is perfectly acceptable?
Goforit
Kieran: Obviously the “infantile temper tantrums” ARE working. Trump the Traitor’s tweets and Kavanaugh’s Senate testimony are nothing but infantile temper tantrums.
batesmotel
You’re reading more into something that isn’t there. She looks fine. Perhaps a bit shy with all the cameras and attention on her as you can tell she doesn’t care about all that stuff. The man she’s married to she knows. She sleeps next to the guy and talks to the guy daily. This isn’t a stranger. Regardless if he did something or didn’t do something as a wasted young adult is irrelevant. We’ve all done things at that age we’re not proud of. And if you’re gay and using the sexual assault “allegation” as leverage, then you’re one to talk. I get hit on by in the most inappropriate assault like disgusting way from gays every-single-day. So you’ve got a lot of nerve pretending to ride the backs of the me too movement. If you don’t like Brett Kavanaugh because he’s a Republican, then just say that. Don’t be a follower by going along with Nazi feminists that aren’t really feminists, just to be in on another trend. Many gays do love those trends!
Centervillejim
She’s “The Good Wife”.
darren michaels
WOW..that was uncomfortable to watch.
I have no doubt Kavanaugh did what Dr.Ford detailed and he likely forgot about it because he blacked out. And dr.Ford made every attempt to avoid him including moving across the country.
And when Dr.Ford’s note was received it likely reminded Kavanaugh what he did, but he’d already been chosen the nominee. He told Republicans and they made every attempt to push it through as quickly as possible before Dr.Fords accusations became public. And they just about did it, by almost a day. The documents the Democrats failed to receive likely substantiate claims of perjury Kavanaugh had previously lied under oath about his involvement in several issues during the Bush admin.
Because Republicans knew about Dr.Ford and had become aware it was true they avoided an investigation and a witness knowing they would benefit her not him. During the testimony, Ashley Kavanaugh did not look the supportive wife. in many, she appears to be participating in something that she’s not comfortable doing and she’s been coached on how to act. Because ranting and raving appear to work for DJT, that is why he suggested Kavanaugh try the same, only it failed to have the same impact and did more damage than it fixed.

Sydboy: Since you seem to like throwing out numbers to support your argument….. Can you tell us all just what percent of the 92% of the 73%% of the 71 misidentifications were made by a victim that knew their attacker by name and by sight before the attack? And how many victims also knew their attackers friends by sight and by name?

I believe/suspect Mrs. Kavanaugh is a victim of spousal abuse. For me, the signs are there from both her and from him. Anyone who believes that mean and nasty, bullying piece of shit was only putting on a show in his hearing is totally daft or blind. Kavanaugh is vicious to his core.
justyouandi
This occasion had to have been bittersweet after what they had just gone through the previous two weeks. It’s a wonder they were able to smile at all.
This is a nothing story.
nitejonboy
She’s prolly known the truth about him for many years now. No sympathy from me if she continues to stand by him. I feel more sorry for his kids, they’re the real victims, having to be born into this.
