“There’s something that’s so enduring about this character,” Andrew Scott says of the classic queer-coded conman Tom Ripley, “and I think it’s because we have so many questions about him.”

With his leading role in ‘Ripley’—Netflix’s adaptation of the 1955 novel ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley,’ Scott weighs in on the iconic character’s long-debated sexuality and shares why he thinks the conman is more fun to watch the less we know about him: “[To] reduce the character by answering too many of those questions is actually a crime in itself.”
