This super cute pro soccer player just came out as gay Pro soccer player Collin Martin has come out as the the second openly gay player in MLS history. His teammates and family have known for years. Martin made his public announcement on Twitter before the team’s Pride celebration against FC Dallas. The Minnesota United midfielder thanked his teammates for their support and encouraged others. Collin Martin, via Twitter Former U.S. national team member Robbie Rogers became the league’s first openly gay player in 2013. He tweeted his support for Martin. Collin is now the only openly gay active player in any major pro sports league in the U.S.
