It was supposed to be a routine nose-job; instead, the procedure led one man to have a woefully long-lasting erection.

Neven Ciganovic was filming for a Channel 4 documentary about the ins-and-outs of cosmetic surgery. After the nose job, he wound up with priapism — a side effect that left the 45-year-old Croatian with an erection that wouldn’t subside.

“I was in Iran for rhinoplasty for the documentary film that British Channel 4 is filming covering my life,” he writes.

“We did not record the surgery but only the consultation sessions with the doctor. They gave me general anesthesia and I reacted badly to it.

“I reside in Belgrade hospital since Friday. Unfortunately, I do not get analgesics because they do not give them to patients here, so I continue to suffer. I have to be at the hospital for five more days.”

For reasons beyond our intellectual capacity, Ciganovic apparently believes this kerfuffle will turn him into a household name:

“I look forward to a movie about myself,” he says. “Channel 4 dedicated a whole episode about me. I think this is a big deal and I hope this is the start of my international career.”

We’ll just have to wait and see.
