Lady Gaga took home the Academy Award for Best Original Song for A Star Is Born’s “Shallow” at last night’s Oscars, and nobody appears to be more happy for her than… Madonna?
Wait… what?!
In case you need a refresher: An intense rivalry between the two started back in 2011, when Gaga was accused of ripping off the instrumentals from Madonna’s song “Express Yourself” in her career-defining hit “Born This Way.” Madonna responded by calling Gaga’s record “reductive”.
Then in 2016, Gaga took a swipe at Madonna, saying: “Madonna and I are very different. I wouldn’t make that comparison at all … I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different.”

Well, last night, the singers appeared to finally put their differences aside when they were photographed together at the pop icon’s annual Oscar’s afterparty.

Madge may not have gotten the Oscar for *writing* the Best Song, but two songs on which she was the sole vocalist won Best Song at the Oscars. “Sooner or Later” in 1990 and “You Must Love Me” in 1996. Major congrats to Gaga, though!

First, the Rainbow Masses worshipped Judy Garland; then the next generation loved Liza Minelli – yes, I know that she is Judy’s daughter-….Barbara Streisand had the loyal crowd following her for awhile…until Cher stole the show and became an LGBT icon for yet another generation. Here came Madonna, hot on the trail of her own unusual break-out fame…and now the title of Rainbow Diva is being passed down to her natural successor, the talented Lady Gaga. All of these ladies were or are waaay beyond simple stardom; they stepped into the ruby slippers and claimed Oz, lol…Gaga and Ms. M are no doubt going to be great friends…both have smashed the What is Acceptable glass ceiling of censorship, not a small endeavor, and have more in common than what most people assume…primarily the adoration and respect from the LGBT communities that they support and speak up for. The photo is done ‘tongue-in-cheek’, it appears; I see no malice, just one performer having a bit of fun with the inevitable, lol….and the crown is handed off yet again, leaving me to wonder who in the world is out there right now…honing her skills to someday snatch the title from La Ga. We’ll see, lol…..

What Lady Gaga did was take the chapter from Madonna’s handbook on how to pump the gay community for all its worth all the way to the Oscars. When I saw the headline here the other day that said she (Lady Gaga) was bi I knew I was right but for some reason my comment was not allowed. The same exact words mind you but the comment wasn’t allowed.
